Mature Apprentice

That time I decided to become an apprentice at age 40….

For as long as I can remember, which at my age is about 2 weeks, I have wanted to be an electrician. What kind of electrician, I do not know, but I was pulling electrical appliances apart since I learned to hold a screw driver. I have always wanted to get my trade, but never have…

A few years ago I decided that I was going to do it, but always missed the TAFE intake, and also never found someone to employ me as a late 30s / early 40s apprentice.

At time of writing this, I still do not have an apprenticeship, and am still not sure when I will have one.

In 2018 I started the Certificate II Electrotechnology course at TAFE Western NSW in Broken Hill. It is 8x blocks of 3 days from February to November and as of November 21st, it is complete.

I have decided, at the end of this course, to start blogging about my troubles, my wins and my losses of getting that elusive license and, hopefully, what I am going to do after I get it.

You can follow me on Instagram, also, at MatureApprentice

I have a twitter account, @topher2880 however I don’t really monitor it.
